When I started my lessons with Niki in 2022, I barely knew a few words of Greek. Since then, I’ve been taking Greek language lessons with Niki, 5 days a week, 90 minutes a day on average. Thanks to Niki’s expertise and enthusiasm, I made quick progress, and I successfully passed the CEFR B1 level exam in May 2023 and the B2 level in May 2024. I am now preparing for the C1 level exam with Niki’s help. Her great energy and dedication, as well as her unwavering commitment to her students’ success, make her an exceptional tutor. I wholeheartedly recommend Niki to anyone who wants to learn Greek.

Demanding but efficient and joyful teaching Greek is a fascinating but difficult language, and after having tried on-line methods and realised the limits I started private lessons with Niki Athanasopoulou. She’s not only very nice and cheerful, she is a true professional who has learned the art of teaching and not just of conversation. She makes the most out of the time imparted, follows methods, focusses on memorization, adopts a systematic approach with the right balance between oral practise and in-depth learning. She is demanding to the student and to herself at the same time. I could notice (and hear from Greek people) when travelling to Greece after having started lessons with her that I had made true progress. This being said her kind and smiling attitude makes each lesson a demanding but pleasurable moment of the day.

The Alpha and Omega, Greek heritage has had an immeasurable influence on Western society, through its philosophy, history, food and possibly most important of all, it language. Learning Greek is like stepping into the World where it all began, and there’s no better guide than Νίκη. She is outstandingly erudite, knowing the origin of many words and being able to explain the most complex of grammar with ease. Νίκη has a warm and personable character, from my experience she gets just as excited as I do about my progress, sometimes even more so! Niki is a wonderful teacher. The lessons are fun and she keeps them moving at a perfect pace and with the right combination of speaking, listening, vocab and grammar. She is always positive and encouraging and adapts the lessons to suit your needs and even to suit how you are feeling on that day. She is very efficient and gives her all. I have found learning Greek with her to be such a positive and fun experience. I look forward to our lessons together and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Niki has been my Greek teacher for over 4 years. She is a gem and she actually makes learning Greek fun. Niki is patient, knowledgeable, and challenging. Her knowledge of the Greek and English language structure and history is phenomenal. When I ask for context to help remember a word she readily provides it. Niki taught my kids (beginners) and my husband (who wanted to work on his already fluent Greek). She is flexible and willing to help her students in any way she can. Most of all, Niki is charming and excited to teach Greek.

Niki is the best Greek tutor. She has great organized computer savvy lesson plans, is great at patiently explaining what you don’t understand, and is very good at engaging you in conversation with lot of examples and exercises. I highly recommend Niki because she will have you speaking Greek in no time!. She is also very friendly and approachable. Niki really wants you to succeed and she’s always willing to help you out if you ever have questions or concerns. Her classes are easy to follow and engaging. Niki is very experienced in teaching the Greek language and tries to make the lessons as relevant as possible so you can more easily understand how to apply what you learn to real life situations. She is also very flexible and accommodating of your schedule which is really helpful for busy people. Thanks for reading!

I have a very, very high opinion of Niki as a tutor. I have worked with many, many teachers of language in the past, and there are many aspects of her teaching I find exceptional. For me, it is great that she is able to adjust the speed of the exposition to my comprehension (whether I am going fast, or having more difficulty). Best of all however, she stresses the *accuracy of pronunciation* which is absolutely essential if your goal is to speak Greek without massacring their ancient and beautiful language. Recommended without hesitation.

This is entirely down to Niki’s great teaching skills and knowledge but just as importantly because she genuinely cares about her students’ improvement adding work when things are good but slowing down when I am struggling. I’ve had 5 lessons with Niki so far. She is very kind and patient with you and really takes the time to make sure you grasp and understand what you are learning so you are able to formulate sentences on your own and not just from rote. She is very structured and sends you notes from each lesson so you have references to look back on and always has homework for you. Niki helps you to think in Greek not translate it. Niki is terrific! She is smart, fun, and kind, and makes the lesson very enjoyable with her good humor and patience. I have had around 4 lessons so far and it was easy to see from the beginning that Niki has the right kind of experience to identify what you need to do to achieve your goal, which in my case was to advance my Greek from an intermediate to an advanced level. She moves quickly during the 1 hour long lesson to ensure that you make good use of the time and sends multiple follow-up emails highlighting the things discussed, providing further explanations, and giving you homework and guidance for the next lesson. I’m very glad that I found Niki and am looking forward to continuing my lessons with her.

I’ve had 2 lessons with Niki so far and will be having many many more! I already have very basic Greek but wanted to really learn quite fast which Niki completely took on board. The lessons are fast paced and always interesting but she always gives me time to think. So far we have practised speaking and reading with emphasis on pronunciation. The lessons are really fun and we laugh a lot! She finds all the gaps in my knowledge and makes sure to fill them before we move on to more complex grammar and vocabulary. The lessons are extremely well planned as well and she knows exactly what we will be doing. We learn so much in just 1 hour and somehow we manage to fit in speaking and reading and lots of repetition and also Niki explaining to me grammar rules as well as tricks to help me remember vocabulary. Last but not least, after the lesson I get a full email with absolutely everything we’ve done that lesson plus some extra things to study by myself as well as my homework tasks. I’m confident that with Niki I will learn Greek quite fast but also extremely well.

Im happy to say that my lessons with Niki have exceeded my expectations of learning a new language. She begins each lesson with a goal and specific topic(s) to review. She helps you understand certain things with tips and clear explanations of grammar, fun strategies to help remember the material, and we always have fun during our lesson! I’m really enjoying my lessons with Niki. They are fast-paced and well prepared. She is encouraging and motivating and, as I used to teach English myself, I can tell that she has experience. I understand Greek very well so I also appreciate the fact that she speaks at a normal speed. Stop reading bios on Teachers. Niki is the real deal… if you want a Greek teacher for yourself or you child, Niki will teach them and encourage them to continue. Flexible with time, homework is manageable and lessons are targeted with a specific learning goal. I hated Greek school as a kid and so did my children… now my son loves his lesson because the language is important to him, but all the dreadful aspects have been eliminated with Niki… the only which I had this option when I was a kid. Every parent has the obligation to reach out to Niki and pass on the gift of the Greek language… no excuses!!!!!!

Nikki is an amazing teacher. She is super warm and friendly with my 9 and 10 year old children, has endless patience, and always keeps a smile on even when they have to repeat the same thing multiple times. She also has a knack of keeping a comfortable pace for them so they don’t ever get bored. Nikki will make sure they understand and have assimilated the content before moving to the next thing, which is so important for effective learning. Nikki is always prepared and well organised with a lesson plan and sends me summaries of what my children learnt so I can help them with homework. She also takes time to prepare individualised child-friendly learning cards and grades which helps with motivation. We have had Greek lessons before but I notice my children are progressing a lot faster with Nikki. I highly recommend Nikki to anyone who wants to learn the Greek language.

I will start by saying that Niki has exceeded all expectations. I have had multiple teachers, teachers in classrooms, private one on one teaching and even online teaching and she has, by very far, been the best. She took the time to asses where I was in my learning and took it from there. She is very organised so you learn a lot in a single class. She makes sure that I repeat until I get the exact pronounciation, she makes sure i understand every word that we read. Not only that, she takes notes of the words I dont understand or that have multiple meanings and sends a class sunmary by e-mail afterwards. She brakes down words and gives a lot of tricks to memorize words, which makes learning very fun. She gives you all the tools to learn, including homeowork, little greek movies (for kids) with subtitles, popular songs with the translations and more, she really goes out of her way for you. She is always available to answer your questions at all time! She is the very friendly and I suggest her to anybody that wants to learn greek!! Thanks Niki 💛

Niki is a wonderful teacher! She is super friendly and makes learning incredibly fun. Niki goes through online lessons with me while taking organized notes on the vocabulary and grammar I need help with. She will also review the proper pronunciation until I sound like a native speaker. After the lesson, she ALWAYS sends an email of a summary of the lesson and the homework for the next lesson. She isn’t harsh on homework either! If you don’t have time to complete it, she will go over it for the next lesson (with some seriously fun memorizing techniques). Niki is very professional and organized, but also very down to earth when needed. I like laughing and having fun during the lesson, and she is completely cool with that! Lastly, she is always available. If you want to message her with a question, she will answer because she wants you to learn!!! I cannot recommend her enough. : )

Niki is a great teacher! She can perfectly handle through a camera children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. During the lessons my son never loses his concentration! She is patient and she is always well prepared and organised in order to keep my son intent and concentrated. She uses much different material to teach a topic and she makes her theory files with my son’s favorite colors in order to draw his attention. She is always positive and friendly. Niki is a great teacher. Our first session she took the time to speak with me regarding my goals in learning the Greek language and wanted to get an understanding of what level Greek I was at (which was close to zero). She is always prepared with well thought out lessons customized to my abilities and achieving the goals we discussed. During the lessons we work on many difficult sections together and Niki is always patient with me to make sure I understand before moving to the next topic. My daughter (12 years old) and I had enough lessons to highly recommend Niki. She is a very good and dedicated teacher. First of all, she can adapt her lesson to your needs (child, beginner, advanced student, etc). Second, she prepares perfectly the lesson in advance to fit your goals within the process of learning Greek. Third, it’s never boring and she always finds a way to “entertain” children online which is not an easy job at all. 😉 Fourth, as it comes to adults, can can immediatly changes the course of the program to help you reach your goals in this languages. Fith, as I always told, she is very dedicated, doesn’t bother repeating several times if needed and above all, she is a very nice teacher. I am sure that you’ll love learning with her.

Once more, it was a fantastic lesson with Niki. I can not praise her enough for her perfect job in Greek. She is patient, she doesn’t bother repeating, she explains well, she can find the answer quickly when she doesn’t know it (because no one can know everything). I highly recommend her as your next Greek teacher, whatever level you have (beginner or advanced), whatever is your age (children or adult).
